Maras & Moray Half-Day Cultural Experience

The tour begins in the morning with pickup from your hotel in Cusco’s historic center. From there, the journey heads toward the highland plateau northwest of the city, offering scenic views of farmland and Andean landscapes.

The first stop is Moray, an extraordinary Inca archaeological site made up of circular terraces arranged like a natural amphitheater. These terraces were used as an agricultural research center, where the Incas experimented with crops in different microclimates, demonstrating their advanced understanding of farming and environmental adaptation.

The tour then continues to the Maras Salt Mines, a striking hillside covered with thousands of white salt ponds. These pools have been used since pre-Inca times and are still managed by local families using traditional evaporation methods. The site offers unique photographic opportunities and insight into ancestral salt production techniques.

After the visit, the group returns to Cusco, concluding the tour in the early afternoon.
