Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco City & Inca Heritage
Upon arrival in Cusco, you will be transferred from the airport to your hotel to settle in. In the early afternoon, the guided city tour begins with a visit to Qorikancha, once the most important Inca religious complex. The experience continues through Cusco’s historic center, including the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral, where Inca foundations meet colonial architecture.
Later, you will explore nearby archaeological sites such as Sacsayhuamán and Q’enqo, gaining insight into Inca engineering, ceremonial practices, and defensive strategies. After the tour, you will return to your hotel for a restful evening in Cusco.
Day 2: Machu Picchu Exploration
The day begins with hotel pick-up and a scenic journey to the train station, combining road and rail travel through the Sacred Valley. The train ride offers spectacular views of rivers, mountains, and cloud forest landscapes as you travel to Aguas Calientes.
Upon arrival, you will head to Machu Picchu by tourist bus and enjoy a guided visit of approximately two and a half hours. Explore the citadel’s most important sectors, learning about its history, architecture, and spiritual significance while enjoying a less crowded afternoon schedule.
After the guided tour, return to Aguas Calientes for free time to explore the town or enjoy a relaxed meal. In the evening, you will board the return train and continue by road back to Cusco, arriving at your hotel later that night.
Day 3: Departure from Cusco
After checking out from your hotel, a transfer will take you to Cusco Airport, marking the end of your Machu Picchu and Cusco experience.
