Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco Historic Center & Inca Archaeological Sites
The tour begins in the morning with hotel pick-up and a journey into the historic center of Cusco. Your first stops include Qorikancha, once the most important Inca temple dedicated to the Sun, and the Plaza de Armas, where colonial architecture stands atop ancient Inca foundations. You will also visit the Cusco Cathedral, a landmark that reflects centuries of cultural transformation.
After exploring the city center, the tour continues to the outskirts of Cusco. You will visit Sacsayhuamán, an impressive Inca fortress known for its massive stone constructions and panoramic views of the city. The route then leads to Q’enqo, a ceremonial complex associated with Inca rituals and astronomical symbolism.
The experience continues at Puka Pukara, a strategic military and administrative site, followed by Tambomachay, a place dedicated to water and Inca hydraulic engineering, where natural springs still flow through carved stone channels. The tour concludes around midday with a comfortable return to your hotel, leaving you with the rest of the afternoon free to enjoy Cusco.
